Offline Repeater Pro ("the app") is developed by DoodleComms. This policy explains what information the app accesses, how it's used, and — just as importantly — what the app does not do with your data.
The app has no account system, no analytics, no advertising, and no server backend of its own. Everything the app does happens on your device. Nothing you enter or that the app reads from your device's sensors is ever transmitted anywhere, except when you explicitly tap a link that opens another app (your email client, or an app store listing), or when you make an in-app purchase, which is handled entirely by Apple's or Google's own store — see "Purchases" below.
The app uses your device's GPS location — or a location you manually enter as a grid square or latitude/longitude — solely to calculate the distance and direction to nearby repeaters and to show them on an offline map. This location is:
The app uses Bluetooth solely to connect to a compatible radio (BTECH UV-Pro, BTECH UV-50PRO, Vero VR-N76, Vero VR-N7600, and likely other radios using the same Benshi Bluetooth protocol) in order to read and write its channel memory at your direction. The app does not scan for or collect information about other Bluetooth devices around you beyond what Android or iOS requires to open that connection, and no Bluetooth data is transmitted off your device.
Finding and browsing repeaters is free. Programming a repeater to your radio requires a one-time or yearly purchase, made through the App Store's or Google Play's standard in-app purchase system. That purchase is handled entirely by Apple or Google:
The app includes a bundled, offline database of amateur radio and GMRS repeater listings, sourced from public repeater directories. This is static reference data included with the app — it is not collected from you and contains no information about you. If you add your own custom repeater entries, those are stored only in the app's local storage on your device.
The app includes a few buttons that open something outside the app — your device's email client (for the "Send Feedback" feature, which pre-fills a message but requires you to review and send it yourself), and a link to the developer's other app on the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Opening these is your choice and under your control; the app itself does not send any data to them.
The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, regardless of age — see above.
If this policy is ever updated, the revised version will be posted at this same URL with an updated effective date.
